Produced with footage shot in the mid 1980's, 'Death of a Chook' is a metaphor for the directors' personal life. Robert Gibson is the chook/chicken who not only moults melodramatically but also ruffles the feathers of all those with whom he associates. Eventually life gives him the chop but is still seen running around like a chook with its head cut off.
