Nena and Niek move with their family to the old run-down Pegasus stables, but soon learn that the farm is cursed: ever since the original owner died, the ghost of his horse roams the woods and disaster has befallen all subsequent owners.

After an accident leaves him unable to ride horses competitively, former showjumping champion Rob moves with his family to the Pegasus stables, hoping to establish a successful stud farm there. Despite their father's enthusiasm, Nena and Niek find that the farm is rather old and run-down, and the local villagers are unfriendly towards them. They are warned that Pegasus is cursed: ever since the original owner died in a fire, the ghost of his horse roams the woods and disaster has befallen all subsequent owners. Although the others dismiss the curse as a joke, Nena soon starts to suspect that there may be something to it after all.—Phil G
