The film De Avondboot (The evening boat) consists of four different stories. The stories all take place on the Dutch island of Vlieland. The holiday guests of the holiday homes Duinroos (burnet rose) I and II want to relax and enjoy the sea and nature. There are great mutual tensions among the vacationers. They would prefer to end off their holiday and leave the island with the first boat. But the island also seems to be able to help them solve their problems.
