Amidst the final battle of Hanoi in 1946, a Hanoian fighter from the Self-Defense Force is on a mission to retrieve more arms. To hide from the French soldiers, he takes refuge at the home of 2 pho street vendors. The couple offer him a bowl of pho, as long as he helps them find chives.
