Crooks discover a Genghis Khan treasure ship on the Canada-Alaska border but the treasure is hidden somewhere on land. In their efforts to find the hidden treasure they resort to murder and sabotage to stop the construction of the Alcan highway which will bring homesteaders to the area. In the town of Alcan (Alaska/Canada) on the international borderline the divides the United States from Canada, a prospector,Jim Sawyer, is brutally murdered by outlaw Mort Fowler, just after Sawyer had tumbled upon an ancient Chine junk. The legend is the never-before discovered junk is said to be one of the treasure-hunting ships sent out by Genghis Kahn in the thirteenth century and is believed to hold the clue to a vast hidden fortune. A gang, led by Mort, that takes orders from a mysterious "'Chief", is searching for the secret riches. Mort brings noted "Orientologist" Professor Belanco to the site of the junk, and forces him to study the artifacts and coins found on board. When the "Chief" learns that the territory is to be opened to homesteaders, Mort is directed to take a series of attacks against to Alcan road builders, and that brings Sergeant Chistopher Royal of the Canadian Mounted Police to the scene to face a succession of terrifying adventures.—Les Adams <[email protected]>
Chapter One LEGENDT OF GENGHIS KAHN - Jim Sawyer (Marshall Reed, prospecting near the town of Alcan on the International Border Line dividing Alaska from Canada, stumbles upon an ancient Chinese junk. According to legend, the junk is one of the treasure-hunting ships sent out bu Genghis Khan in the 13th century and is believed to hold the clue to a vast hidden treasure. Before Sawyer can act, he is killed by Mort Fowler (Anthony Warde). Fowler, agent for a mysterious chief, heads a gang of outlaws. They are ready to search for the hidden treasure hen they learn that the Alcan territory will be opened to homesteaders. When roadbuilders, headed by Captain Chris Royal (Jim Bannon) of the Canadian Mounted, begin construction, Fowler plans to blow up the railroad supply bridge. Chris learns of the plan and races to the scene. He leaps on the train and attacks Fowler as he is lighting a bomb fuse. Fowler knocks out Chris and jumps to safety.
