Dalston Now is a film celebrating the lives of residents and workers from this fascinating part of London. the intention of the film is to preserve some of the diverse personal histories of Dalston at a time of momentous change. Taking the idea of archive as inspiration, the producers hope that it will serve as a useful historical document to future generations in Hackney and further afield. The production team interviewed numerous people from different walks of life including local market traders, religious ministers, a comedian and author, an artist, a chartered surveyor, a member of the House of Lords and the painter of the Dalston Peace Mural.—Anonymous
