Being intelligent doesn't mean you have the answers. But for Trevor Patterson, a single father of three, life, love and family are about to take center stage.
The show follows Trevor, a bright young man with a heart of gold. But after two failed marriages and three beautiful children from those marriages, he has always focused on work and raising his kids. Trevor is now ready to move forward with his love life, but it's been a very long time since he's dated, so now he must learn again, what it is to be in a relationship and how to go about it, all the while still trying to figure out the whole parenting thing...His relationships with both mothers are impeccable. His first wife Maris is a celebrity builder with her own show and his second wife Janet runs her own international marketing firm. The women are involved with the kids but the day to day is left to Trevor who as agreed to hunker down with the kids.The oldest child Jenella (14) is going through young teenage angst. She's entering high school and trying to navigate going through a host of emotions, changing hormones, boys and dealing with her family to boot.
The middle child is Audrey (11). Her intelligence is off the charts. She is considered a genius, but her parents won't let her skip grades, because they too were young prodigies. They are extremely cautious about moving her through life too fast. She can be socially awkward at times, but has a pure heart and she bent on changing the world for the better along with getting into mischief constantly.Then there's the youngest child, ALEX (7). He is simply adorable. He's a daddy's boy, and he's everyone's heart. He wants to be just like his dad. He warms your soul at every turn.This family is unique unto itself, and together they give us an honest and often hilarious look into the sometimes warm, heartfelt moments that arise in raising a family as a single dad, and we come to embrace how dads do it too.
BACKSTORYTrevor was a bit of a child prodigy, entering college at age 16. There he met his first wife Maria, who was also a child prodigy, entering college at age 16. The two started dating and Maria became pregnant her freshman year of school. They both continued their schooling. After graduation, Trevor started a career at NIH and Maria was offered her own building construction TV series. The two made it work for a while but the stress of being young and having a second child became too much and they decided to go their separate ways. The two always made a promise to be excellent co-parents to their now growing family. With two young children, Trevor focused on work and raising their kids. One day at work he met his second wife, Janet with whom had his third child. After a few years of marriage, her international marketing firm took off and put a strain on their relationship. Due to Janet's jet-setting work schedule, during the divorce, they agreed it best for Trevor to also raise their child.
