Advocate Nivaran Chatterjee lives a wealthy lifestyle in a small town along with his wife, and three sons. His first son is married, while his second son, Kedarnath, who suffered a head injury, is a little senile, and his third son, Amarnath, is a brilliant student. Amarnath falls in love with Beeni Mukherjee, who is a good student, has an elder dominating sister, Saraswati, who is brilliant. Kedar is attracted to Saraswati but lacks the courage to approach her. Then some of his friends introduce him as a brilliant student and athlete to Saraswati's dad, who approves of him. Kedar meets with Saraswati, who also approves of him, and both are slowly drawn to each other. It will not be long before Saraswati finds out that Kedarnath is a fraud, will give up on him, and get ready to marry a wealthy Bhagalpur-based man of her father's choice.—rAjOo ([email protected])
Nibaran Chatterjee is a successful and well off lawyer in town. His first son Anil (Samit) is married and stays outside, leaving wife (Sandhya) behind. The younger son, Santu (Ayan) a brilliant scholar is betrothed to a neighbor's younger daughter Bini (Debashri). In their home arrives his nephew, Kedar (Tapas), a perpetual failure in studies and an extremely simpleton (he mentions due to a head injury). Kedar falls in love with the serious and brilliant Saraswati (Mahua), Bini's elder sister. The leader of the local club Bhombol (Anup) decides to have fun with the simpleton and presents him as a brilliant sportsman, scholar etc at Saraswati's home. Saraswati is impressed and she too gets attracted. Her parents too approve of Kedar and rejects a wealthy match, of course with Saraswati's nod. When the lie of Kedar is caught, and the earlier rejected rich-suitor again presents a fresh appeal for reconsideration Saraswati forces her parents against their wish to accept the alliance.—S Basu
