A group of college friends travel to a mysterious village to find a haunted mansion described in a romantic ghost story.
A novelist from Beijing named Guo published a a very popular romantic ghost story called "The Village". After a group of college students hear about the story, they take off to try and find the location of the mysterious mansion mentioned in the book. They also hope to find out if the legend is true that speaks of a spirit called Rouge, who apparently curses couples who are not truly in love. Although Guo tries to warn them, they soon themselves in the midst of more trouble than they could have imagined.
The author himself soon becomes plagued by a series of emails from someone calling herself Rouge. When it appears that the curse has been passed to Guo, he and his girlfriend Gigi head off to the village to try and uncover its secrets.
