Synopsis

Wracked with guilt after a drunken hallucination led her to falsely accuse her Uncle Lenny of murdering her younger sister Elise, Ambriel Jones exits rehab with nowhere to turn. Forced to move in with the butcher she tarnished, a tense reconciliation unfolds. As they rebuild trust amidst the scent of blood and bone, another young woman vanishes, triggering a chilling reminder of Elise's fate.

Despite Ambriel's desperate pleas, the police, scarred by her past lies, dismiss her concerns. Undeterred, she seeks help from Sam, the enigmatic older woman who works with Lenny at the slaughterhouse. Sam, with her calm demeanor and sharp intuition honed by years of handling raw flesh, becomes an unlikely confidante. But can Ambriel, forever branded a liar, discern the truth before the killer strikes again?

Enter Sheriff Harris, a by-the-book lawman haunted by unsolved disappearances. Though he initially doubts Ambriel's claims, a gnawing suspicion lingers in his gut. Meanwhile, Owen, a troubled teenager with a mysterious connection to the missing girl, emerges as a potential key to the case. As the body count rises and the small town tightens its grip on secrets, Ambriel must navigate a web of suspicion, fractured family bonds, and a past that constantly threatens to drown her out. Can she overcome her demons, unite with the reluctant Sheriff, and decipher Owen's cryptic clues before another innocent life is lost? Or will her history of "crying wolf" leave her powerless to stop a murderer, forever haunted by the ghosts of her past mistakes?
