Robinson Crusoe is shipwrecked and he finds himself all alone on a tropical island. With a few tools he manages to rescue from the wreck he has to learn to support himself until help arrives.

In 1808, a slave ship sets sail from Virginia to retrieve slaves in Africa. The ship sinks in a storm, without ever reaching its destination. The sole survivor of the sinking is Robinson Crusoe, who makes his way to a tropical island. His sole companions are his dog Scamp and the ship's small flock of geese. While exploring the island, Crusoe finds out that the island is regularly visited by a nearby tribe of cannibals. He witnesses them cremating the remains of their tribal chief. The tribe intended to offer a human sacrifice of three men in honor of the dead chief, but Crusoe rescues one of the men intended for the sacrifice. Crusoe names the man "Lucky", but does not trust the other man and refuses to share his cave with him. After Lucky is killed, Crusoe befriends a cannibal who has been stranded on the island. They co-operate in a plan to flee the island. When a European ship arrives on the island, Crusoe realizes that the new arrivals are more interested in capturing his friend than in rescuing either of them.—Dimos I
