A small-town, high-school principal still living at home with her mother shakes up her life in a way that even she never expected when she agrees to go out on a date with her school's Hispanic janitor.
A straightlaced high school principal, Charlotte (Christine Lahti), living in a small Texas town feels her life is passing her by.Her best friend is about to become a grandmother, her relationship with her boy friend (William Russ) is going no place fast, and she still lives with her mother (Louise Latham). In the mean time, a Mexican rancher, Ernesto (Ruben Blades), begins work at the school as a janitor. He's a widower living with a father (Tommy Muniz) who regularly gets in trouble, and he is also harrassed by his married daughter who is a lawyer. Mix the chemistry of these characters and you have a delightful romantic comedy.
