In 1848 the USA annex California, Hispanics are now discriminated by the Yankees. To end the abuse Don César orders his student son to return from Europe. The locals laugh about this ridiculous dandy. But all is not what it seems.

The year is 1848 and the United States has just annexed the region of California. In order to end the abuse of the Yankee authorities on the local population, don César de Echagüe calls his son, César de Echagüe junior, to return from Europe, where he was studying. The young man, an affected and somewhat ridiculous dandy, will immediately provoke the laughter of the rude locals. Although appearances are deceiving.—jsanchez
