Bob Allen, a struggling songwriter poses as a millionaire cowboy to win Broadway star Babs Lee.

Hank (Leon Errol) and Ace Robbins (Walter Catlett)are producing a play to glorify the state of Texas, funded by a few wealthy Texans. The star is Babs Lee (Frances Langford)who tell Robbins that if he pulls one more publicity stunt involving her private life, she will walk out. The play is having a problem in selling tickets to its opening due to other conflicting events that night. Songwriter Bob Allen(Robert Paige) and nephew of Wild Bill Allen ('George Cleveland'), offers a solution; Robbins can hire someone to pretend he is a rich Texas that has fallen in love with Babs Lee and he has purchased all the ticket for the whole first week.
