Graham and acquientence Robert begin masquerading as police officers for their own amusement, fooling the public and even the police force themselves.
I remember this short film by the BBC well. I recall I was impressed with it at the time of showing (1988). Two guys buy a Vauxhall Cavalier (one of the top cars used by the British police at the time) and fit it with a police siren. They acquire police uniforms and other official police issue in order to patrol the streets, dispensing driving offence tickets and generally taking the mickey. Highly recommended if you get a chance to see this. This was a one-off play, part of a strand on BBCtv at the time (Play for Today or Screenplay Two?).The play seems to have inspired a character on Little Britain, series one; a driving instructor who doubles as a wannabe police officer. So many of these "one-off" plays for television are overdue a Dvd release. Look at the success & quality of The Firm (a play from the same strand) to give you an idea of what we're missing.
