Confidence Man explores the life, art and legal troubles of Hugh DeNeal, co-founder and primary songwriter for The Woodbox Gang (Alternative Tentacles Records). It features band, fan, family and Postal Inspector interviews; concert footage; road footage; music videos and over 2 dozen of Hugh's songs as it traces his influences and journeys with him from the Kennedy Center stage to Leavenworth Federal Penitentiary. Part artist's biography, part cautionary tale; Confidence Man reflects Hugh's dark humor, his gambling spirit and his long descent into the madness of hosting High Yield Investment Programs on-line. This doc is rockin', tragic and funny, set in southern Illinois but international in scope, and the songs are integral to the telling of the tale.—Anonymous
