MATILDE, an Afro-descendant woman who denies her roots and constantly straightens her hair, moves to the country's capital intending to rebuild her life away from her family and community. She settles in the old house of her maternal grandmother and there an African mask seems to follow her without her noticing it. Overnight, his hair becomes afro, natural, and abundant, and travels to the year 1849, where an enslaved woman asks her to help her escape from his slaver. Matilde is involved in an old conflict that she does not want to be part of and to escape she will have to face her prejudices and fears.—James Camargo De Alba
