Summaries

A promising artist learns about her brutal past, suffers a stroke and is trapped in her body with her worst nightmares coming true.

Set in the backdrop of the chaotic capital city and the misty mustard farms of north India, the feature film COLD narrates the deep and endless thoughts, nightmares, and agonies of the protagonist "Varsha". She is an artist who paints with her moods and emotions. She lives in a rented house in the middle of the city with her pet dog Kiya. Being an orphan with a deprived childhood has deleterious impacted Varsha's personality that made her distrusting everyone she encounters in life. 'I often enjoy the beauty of dull and isolated objects' a statement that fittingly framed her attitude towards life. Varsha's life turns upside down when she meets her mother's friend, Meriyam Joseph, a nun. Varsha's physical and emotional journey with the nun unravels her mother's life and the tragedy that made her an orphan. Emotionally devastated Varsha falls with a stroke that paralyzes her for life. The destiny did not spare her even on the death bed. She then became the victim of a 'cold empathy'. The end shot of the film warns us that the men who misprinted the canvas of her life still hide among us with a vainglory.
