Summaries

The lives and loves of several members of the gay community in San Francisco is intercut with an ongoing murder mystery and a climactic battle between good and evil.

There's an ancient saying that all roads lead to Rome, but for the best and the brightest and those with the biggest dreams, all roads lead to New York. The city is the perfect setting for this dazzling, exciting, occasionally surreal drama with comedy and music, like a modern-day La Dolce Vita, set in the nighttime world of the club and bar scene. As night falls on the city, people escape from their everyday lives into a world punctuated with flashing light, swirling color, loud music and strong emotions. It's a place where secrets crumble and fall away with a little help from alcohol, drugs and opportunity. "Cocktails" serves up an unguarded portrait of the human condition in a vibrant Technicolor film noir palette, and focuses on the lives, loves, hopes and fears of the bartenders who work in seven different New York bars and clubs: Jet, Chuck, Austin, Merrick, Wayne, Beau and Skip. They are straight, gay, bi-sexual, transgendered or questioning who they are. Every one of the bartenders has a profound or disturbing secret that will ultimately be revealed. They all dance between the polar extremes of the two most powerful men in New York, Gabriel and Luce, who are locked in a mortal battle of good and evil.
