With the silent remembrance of her recently deceased father etched in her mind, the kind but gullible countrywoman, Katerina, arrives in bustling Athens to settle her affairs. Sadly, Gerasimos--Katerina's seemingly trustworthy friend and sole administrator of her late father's truck company--is scheming under her nose, intent on robbing the bereaved woman of her only property: an old and rickety lorry. Under those circumstances, before the grim possibility of absolute poverty, only the compassionate and hard-working truck driver, Vagelis, and his good companion, Kotsos, are the only ones who can lend Katerina a hand.
