Six men from Boston, Massachusetts hatch a financial assistance plot to help notorious religious fanatic John Brown of Kansas. Brown and his followers attacked a federal arsenal at Harper's Ferry, Virginia in 1859. This incident lead directly to the opening events starting the American Civil War. The raid failed and Brown was hanged. Brown's death gave urgency to the cause of Anti-Slavery forces.
