Synopsis

It's 1975, just after the end of the Vietnam War, and Danny Parker (Bill Gray) is released from a Veteran's Administration hospital, still suffering from amnesia. At a bus stop he meets a young would-be starlet (Toni Basil) who joins him on his journey up the California coast. Still tormented by flashes of the battlefield, Danny is haunted by a recurring, repressed memory of an incident his mind still tries to keep from consciousness. He considers suicide, but after various adventures - his companion's near-rape at the hands of pool hall thugs, an encounter with another Vietnam veteran and his wife - Danny meets the mystical Dannes (Dean Stockwell) and comes to terms with his past, finally recalling the long-repressed act he committed.
