This is the story of Ruby Gillman, a young teenage kraken dreamer, who is trapped within her step-family - her cruel step-mother, Scarlett Overkill, and two step-sisters who are often jealous of her charm and beauty, Velvet, and Anna, who treat her as a maid in her own house, and is forced to do all the house work. But, when the king decides to organize a royal ball, Ruby dreams of going and finding the man of her dreams, but Scarlett forbids her to go. When everything seems to go downhill for her, with the help of her animal friends, RJ and Tails, and her fairy godmother, Mavka, Ruby's dreams come true.
