A wizard, a mermaid, a witch, and their talking cat decide to intervene in the lives of people in a small Russian town, but their benevolent efforts go awry.

Vasilisa, an ancient sorceress who never ages, Inka, a beautiful mermaid who loves midnight bathing, and Grandma Yadviga, a old witch who loves to fly, decide to break their edict against interfering in the lives of people. Together with their talking cat, Timofey Ivanovich, they begin to use their powers to bring small miracles to the citizens of Reshetov, a small Russian town tucked away in a forgotten corner of Siberia. Though they intend only good, their interventions only create more problems for both them and people they try to help.—Anonymous
