Grumpy grieving Hunter Lowell hires Rex's firm to make an expert inventory of the library in his Californian wine estate for sale as he lives in San Francisco. Rex's daughter Isabella comes do it, he presses her to work hard. Belle starts enjoying the Christmas season and starts falling in love with the estate and dog Beast, slowly with the hunky owner, whose devoted housekeeper Angie explains Hunter never came to terms with losing his late wife, whose roses gazebo are off-limits even to her, yet an invaluable sale plus. Hunter warms up to Isabella, who gets him to taste life again, even consider reviving the Christmas ball in the barn.
