Three children set out to learn traditional trapping methods from their grandfather, but end up on a journey that threatens the family Christmas.

Three native children visit their grandfather on his trap line where they experience the traditional ways of trapping, hunting and fishing. In their journey they discover that the lack of food in the area may cause their Christmas holidays to be cancelled.
