A Bihari boy, Sooraj with a talent for football, arrives with his mother in a Mumbai chawl. He faces extreme odds from school gangs who wouldnot let him be at peace or play his game. Hounded and cornered, Sooraj fights for his spot under the sun, his place in the Chidiakhana. Things start to change for him when protection comes from unexpected quarters; a local chalwl strongman comes to their rescue and gives wings to his modest dreams. While the unlikely duo bond, Bibha sees red and wants Pratap to leave them alone. Pratap finds himself against his own boss, Bhau (Govind Namdev) and is forced to choose sides. In his journey, the awkward, insecure boy, Sooraj formsunexpected friendships, resolves conflicts at school and the playground and tries to find his place under the sun.
