Summaries

"Sound-Off Time" was a live, half-hour variety series with Fred Allen and Bob Hope alternating at hosts, and not very successfully. However, on December 16, 1951, "Sound-Off Time" aired the pilot for "Dragnet." The broadcast garnered "Sound-Off Time's" best rating. It's sponsor, Liggett & Myers Tobacco, promptly dropped the comedians in favor of the cop.—Anonymous
