A Cypriot tour guide, who dreams of becoming a popular singer, loses his beloved who, succumbing to the pressures of her own, gets engaged to a rich young man from London.

Alexis, a young tour guide who aspires to become a singer, is head-over-heels in love with Marina, a beautiful Cypriot. However, Manolis, Marina's avaricious brother, has already arranged to marry her off to Christos, a well-off suitor from London. As a result, after an unfortunate misunderstanding, Marina yields to pressure and agrees to betroth Christos, as a now-successful Alexis is on tour with the Cypriot singer, Mihalis Violaris, who has taken him under his wing.
