Three woman-hating brothers face changes in their respective lifestyles when two of them fall in love.
The Sharma brothers consist of former boxer, Brijmohan; Jagmohan, an Electrical Engineer; and Manmohan, a Mechanic. The brothers operate a garage under the name of 'Mohan Brothers' in Bombay. Brijmohan hates all women and does not permit even a poster to be hung on the walls of either the garage or their residence as well as instructs his brothers not to get involved with them. While working the late shift, Manmohan assists a customer, Renu, and both rather dramatically fall in love. Subsequently, Jagmohan meets with Renu's friend, Sheila, and both are attracted to each other. Unable to face the wrath of their brother, both conceal this information from him. Then the duo find out that their brother hides a woman's photograph under his pillow, but when confronted, refuses to divulge any information to them. Things will change rapidly when Manmohan finds out Renu's father, Kishinchand, has made arrangements for his daughter's to wed Prakashchand, the son of Raja Hardayal Singh.—rAjOo ([email protected])
Brijmohan Sharma (Ashok Kumar), Manmohan Sharma (Kishore Kumar), and his brother Jagmohan Sharma (Anoop Kumar) run a garage. The eldest brother Brijmohan hates women and doesn't allow any women or pictures of them in his garage unless its an emergency.Brijmohan firmly believes that women bring bad luck and that they should be kept away from their personal lives and from their business. He does not even allow promotional posters in the shop that have a female face on it.Maujiya (Mohan Choti) is the assistant at their garage.
Maujiya does the night shifts at the garage, but Manmohan gives him an evening off to watch a movie with his friends. Due to this Manmohan is on the night shift. On this particular rainy and windy night, Renu (Madhubala) comes to the garage seeking help as her car breaks down. Renu gets angry at Manmohan because he is sleeping when he is supposed to be on duty.
Manmohan doesn't like the fact that Renu shouted at him and initially refuses to repair her car, but finally agrees as Renu is alone and is in trouble. Manmohan fixes the car, and Renu leaves, forgetting to pay Manmohan for his services which amount to 5 Rupees and 12 Annas. He tells his to brother Brijmohan about this and realizes that Renu forgot her purse in the garage.Brijmohan suggests taking 5 Rupees and 12 Annas from Renu's purse and to then return the purse to Renu. But the purse has no money and no address.
Manmohan goes through it and finds a pass to a concert. Manmohan goes to this concert (as he is the only one who has seen Renu and hence can identify her) to recover his money. When Manmohan reaches the venue, he is not allowed to enter as the pass has Renu's name on it. Manmohan realizes that Renu is a famous dancer and it her dance performance at the show. The concert pass that Manmohan found was actually Renu's stage pass.
Not wanting to let go of his money, Manmohan waits in Renu's car and to meet her when she comes out. He, however, falls asleep and Renu doesn't notice him; she drives home and parks in her garage with Manmohan in the car.
When Manmohan wakes up, he gets hungry and looks for some food in Renu's kitchen. A servant in the house sees this and chases Manmohan, who manages to escape (but not before running into Renu in her bedroom ad asking her for his 5 Rupees and 12 Annas). On his way home, he notices a few men dumping a dead body on the road and fleeing. When he tells his brothers about his night the next morning, they have a hearty laugh at his expense. Manmohan says that not every girl is a crook, and he is confident that Renu will come to the garage to settle her bills.
Later, Renu calls the garage asking for help with her car and assuring she will pay back her fees. Manmoham refuses to go to her house, fearing that he will be recognized by Renu's servant and will get into trouble; Jagmohan decides to go. Jagmohan meets Sheela (Sahira) in Renu's house and the two start talking. Jagmohan is, however, afraid of women. He gets nervous because Sheela is around and hence, he is not able to repair the car.After Jagmohan takes off (not before drinking 10 glasses of water due to anxiety), Renu decides to call Manmohan.
After Manmohan fixes the car, they get talking and Renu realizes that it was Brijmohan who sent Manmohan the previous night to collect the pending bill amount. She also finds that Brijmohan hates women and decides to visit him at the garage. Brijmohan was not in the garage and Renu enters his room, where she finds the photo of a woman in his personal belongings.Manmohan realizes that he is in love with Renu.
Meanwhile, Renu's father Kishanchand (S N Bannerjee) is approached by Raja Hardayal Singh (K. N. Singh), who wants to get his younger brother Prakashchand (Sajjan) married to Renu. Renu's father decides to talk to Renu about this, not knowing that Raja Hardayal and his brother are crooks. Also, Manmohan saw Raja Hardayal's brother Prakashchand dump the dead body on the deserted road.
As Renu is falling for Manmohan and the crooks desperately want her inheritance, Renu and Manmohan are captured by Hardayal's men. In captivity, they meet Kamini (Veena), whose photo Renu had found in Brijmohan's room. Brijmohan and Kamini were in love, but she was married off to Raja Hardayal. Brijmohan is under the impression that she dumped him for a richer man; as a result, he decides that he never wants to associate with women again. Kamini tries to free Renu and Manmohan, but a guard enters. Kamini, however, is able to escape and goes looking for Brijmohan.
Meanwhile, Raja Hardyal Singh captures Renu's father and forces him to get Renu married to his brother, threatening to kill Manmohan if he doesn't. Before Raja Hardyal Singh has his way, Brijmohan is bought to the scene by Kamini.Brijmohan, who is a boxing champion, fights Raja Hardyal Singh's men with the help of his two brothers.
In the end, Brijmohan and his brothers are victorious. Manmohan decides to marry Renu, Brijmohan decides to marry Kamini, and Jagmohan decides to marry Sheela.
