Chakradhari was made in 1954 when the Registration of Marriages Act was introduced amongst a fledgling democracy and independence from the British.Many men had commited Bigamy ,and to save devout Hindus from the misery of forsaking God it was allowed in Hinduism itself to have two wives ,if the circumstances so dictate ,not for sex or crime.The movie explores the theme of a man's love for his wife,his spiritual awakening in his wife's home itself as he marries daughters of the same household ,and God's supreme presence in this world itself.He is a potter and toy maker by profession.—Mamta Dhody
