The Rev. Schaef leads a Christmas Eve celebration at the Washington Square Methodist Church in New York's Greenwich Village. The event - which began at 11:30 P.M., and was joined in progress at midnight and broadcast live by WCBS-TV - featured original songs from folksinger-activist Len Chandler, traditional carols sung by the Renaissance Choir, and a sermon delivered by Schaef, in conjunction with a small jazz ensemble led by composer-saxophonist Ed Summerlin.—David Speed <[email protected]>
