An animated adaptation of the comic strip "Captain Pugwash" by John Ryan. Horatio Pugwash is an inept pirate captain, leading a hand full of men in various misadventures. Horatio is pompous, cowardly, and greedy, but with enough social skills to inspire others to follow him or to help him. He typically achieves victory only due to his luck, or due to the assistance of Tom the Cabin Boy. Tom is the only intelligent member of the pirate crew, and the only one who can actually sail a ship. However, he is content in the role of the Captain's hyper-competent sidekick. Horatio's archenemy is a rival pirate captain, Cut-Throat Jake. Jake was a malicious Welshman, whose main goal in life is was scheming Horatio's downfall. Despite typically being more successful at piracy and wealthier than Horatio, his revenge schemes tend to fail.—Dimos I
