An aging pop singer pretends to be a camping friend and his fans can win a shared evening at a campsite. But the whole thing is a farce.
The aging singer Karl-Heinz Sollheim has a simple formula for success: Always stay authentic. He has long regretted the fact that after his only hit "Unter der Sonne" he opted for a career as a hit star instead of his beloved country music. Also the image as "campsite Kalle" doesn't really fit, because he hates nothing more than the simple life and sleeping in the open air. In order to get out of the career low, Kalle is forced to accept a promotional idea from his manager Tess, who has an evening with him at the campsite raffled on the radio. So he finally ends up on Desiree's and her mother Martha's dilapidated Baltic Sea campground, who are about to go bankrupt and are also hoping for a miracle. When the television announced surprisingly and the bookings skyrocketed, Desiree fired up the campaign with a lousy trick: she made a bet in the live broadcast that Kalle had to extend it by two weeks. However, the courageous campsite operator cannot enjoy her success for long, because soon she has to find out that her mother also cheated: not she, but the luxury facility of her ex-husband Werner won "Camping-Kalle". Now a tug of war begins for Kalle, who has to decide between the "camping site with a heart" or a lucrative offer.—ARD Das Erste
