Another in a series of short experimental videos by new media artist/film maker David Ellis exploring the digital deconstruction and transformation of photographic still images into virtual animation. Originating from a 1950's anonymous photograph, richly textured C L O N E truly is a cloned image. Layers upon layers of effects and adjustments are combined to produce still frames that are subsequently processed into digital video format. A new series of images are then cloned from the digitally altered stills and further processed, creating the final video. Accompanied by the experimental electronic music of German composer and artist Hanne Adam, adamned-age.com, the colorful rhythmic cycling images and sounds become a short, truly fascinating cyber voyage.—Anonymous
