In 2005 the 2012 Olympiad was awarded to London amid a blaze of publicity. Two years later construction of the Olympic Park in East London was underway. Builders and The Games began as a project to document experiences of workers on the site but the filmmakers were frustrated by bureaucracy, security and public relations hype. So, they explore the background, the legacy of past construction projects and the promises held out by the Olympic Authority about safety, jobs and training. When the park was half finished, they were at last allowed inside to cover some best practice. But will the example influence other British sites - or for the building of the next Games in Rio?—Anonymous
