Makino Tsukushi is an ordinary student at Eitoku Gakuen, a school for the ridiculously rich and privileged which is ruled by the Flower 4, or otherwise known as the F4, a group of four boys who come from extremely powerful families.

Makino Tsukushi, coming from a humble family of reduced income, feels out place at Eitoku Gakuen, a school largely attended by the progeny of the most rich and powerful people of the country, so she's determined to draw as little attention to herself as possible and pass her high school days without incident. She's specially cautious of staying out of the way of the F4, a group made up by the four richest boys in school and that rules over the entire student body by intimidation and bullying. However, when her one friend at school manages to draw the ire of the leader of the F4, Domyoji Tsukasa, Makino jumps in to defend her friend and confronts him. By doing so, she not only becomes the newest target of Tsukasa's anger, but also, and unexpectedly, the focus of his interest. Eitoku Gakuen is ruled by the Flower 4, or otherwise known as the F4, a group of four boys who come from extremely powerful families: Domyoji Tsukasa, the leader and heir of the Domyoji World Finance Group; Hanazawa Rui, the introverted son of a large company; Nishikado Sojiro, a player who is the heir of a tea ceremony school; and Mimasaka Akira, a madam killer with ties to the underground. If a student gets on the F4's bad side, he/she gets a red notice and is bullied and driven out of school. Makino hopes to pass her days quietly - without drawing any attention to herself - but one day, she stands up to Domyoji in defense of her friend. The next day, Makino receives the dreaded red notice. Even though she is harassed, Makino decides to keep going to school and declares war right back on the F4, because she is a "tough weed." Her resolve gets the attention of her crush, Hanazawa Rui, and oddly enough, rouses romantic feelings in her worst enemy, Domyoji Tsukasa.

Since Makino is poor, she is often teased by her classmates. For a girl that is naturally filled with spunk and an independent spirit, she tends to be timid at Eitoku Academy. That is until she has her first face to face encounter with the F4. The F4 (Flower 4) are the four richest and attractive men that attend and own the school. In a brave effort, Makino tries to defend her one and only friend, who accidentally offended the F4's leader Tsukasa Domyoji. Unfortunately she ends up causing the wrath of F4 to fall upon her, instead of her friend. But there was something that the leader of the F4 didn't expect. He didn't expect for her fight back.
