Toshiyuki Tanishi, a 27-year-old loner who has never had a girlfriend, works at a small toy company and is seen as a hopeless case. Secretly in love with his co-worker Chiharu, he's too timid to act, until a friendly rival salesman helps him take a chance, leading to an unexpected night with Chiharu after they miss the last train.
