Synopsis

Owen Peadman (Jason Mewes) is a Minnesota bartender who arrives in Los Angeles to try to help his father Frank (Raymond O'Connor) raise money to save his small restaurant. Frank shoots down all of Owen's ideas to boost customer numbers like having lights, a red carpet and a velvet rope outside the restaurant. His next idea was to serve food with belly dancers inside the restaurant.Back home Owen is friends with Rusty # 1 (Desmond Harrington), Rusty # 2 (Kevin Smith) and Penny (Nicholle Tom).LA is hosting a Bartending competition, and the prize money is $10,000, which Owen knows can help save the restaurant.

Owen moves in with his gay uncle, Earl (David Keith) and tries to integrate himself into the high society of Hollywood. Earl claims to know famous Hollywood Entertainment TV show (Hollywood Scoop) host Pip Wingo (Phil Morris). But Pip completely ignores Earl when he tries to himself and Owen into a hot nightclub.Owen and Earl brush past wealthy socialite named Lisa Mancini (Paris Hilton) and her uptight actor boyfriend Hayden Field (Brian Hallisay).

Owen participates in the Bartending competition and performs his signature "dragon" move. The audience loves Owen, but still a different contestant is declared to be the winner. Earl tells him that 2 of the judges were investors in the bar where the winning bartender worked.Owen doesn't want to go back home empty handed. Earl has no option but to go to Pip and ask for a gig. Pip assigns him the task to be the cameraman for the interview of Hayden's fecal therapist. Penny Dhue (Nicholle Tom) is the reporter and conducting the interview at the studios.

Hayden and Lisa are also at the studio, with Lisa waiting in Hayden's vanity van while he completes the shooting. Lisa gets upset when she overhears her entourage talking nasty about her and calling her a rich brat. She takes a golf cart and goes on a rampage at the studios. Lisa runs the cart into a statue and is saved by Owen. Owen later learns from Earl that Lisa's dad AJ (Tim Thomerson) runs the studio.

Penny says that Lisa complained that Owen caused the accident. As a result, Hollywood Scoop is banned from the studios (after being fined $0.5 million) and Earl and Owen are fired by Pip. Owen believes that this is a misunderstanding and that if they talk to Lisa, she will clear the whole thing up.Earl takes Owen to a bar that Lisa is supposed to be visiting that night. While waiting, Owen overhears 2 girls gossiping that Lisa slept with a valet at a hotel. Owen confronts Lisa, who completely refuses to own up to the accident. She gets Owen and Earl thrown out by yelling stalker.Owen chases Lisa when she leaves the bar in her car and she again crashes into him. Lisa kicks Owen and drives away.

Earl and Owen decide to conduct a tell all interview (on Lisa) with Hayden to earn the money & to also get their revenge on her but accessing him is a problem. Owen blackmails Lisa with the valet she had sex with and gets her to introduce him to Hayden and his friend Jimmy (Jon Abrahams). Owen says that he is Lisa's cousin from Minnesota.

Earl and Owen are invited to Hayden and Lisa's bar party and then her house party. At the party Owen meets Dorothy (Lindsay Gareth), who is an aspiring actress. Owen learns that Dorothy is with Jimmy at the party.Owen impresses the crowd with his Bartending skills when he challenges the contest winner by insulting him and saying that he did not win because of his talent.

The next morning, Owen starts bonding with Hayden. Jimmy riles Owen by saying that Dorothy liked her. Jimmy made a tape of having sex with her all night.Owen finds out that Lisa volunteers at a homeless shelter which she supports by stealing money from her father. Lisa says that she moved to LA 3 years ago with her father after he separated from her mother. Lisa loves to read books and she hooked up with the valet as he is an aspiring writer.

Hayden gets Owen a bit part in his latest movie project. As they share a sauna, Hayden reveals that his own father was a hard-working farmer. Hayden invites Owen to Jimmy's party that night.Owen volunteers at the homeless shelter. Lisa gets upset when a magazine reports that she is dating her stalker (Owen) and also carries an article on how Hayden dumped her for a teen model. Owen tries to console Lisa, leading to a kiss between the 2.Lisa invites Owen to her premiere the next night.Hayden reveals that Lisa and he broke up. Hayden knows about Owen's father's restaurant and wants to help. Hayden tells Owen to interview him, which will fetch him $15-20 K. Hayden says that he came to LA and became a movie star after he made a jerk-off tape and the rumor got leaked about him being a rabbit farmer (as he was wearing a straw hat and overalls).Later, Hayden sends Jimmy to pick up the tape back from Owen, saying he changed his mind. But Earl switches the tapes and gives Jimmy the wrong one. Jimmy wanted to use the tape to sign a movie contract for himself.

Owen tells Earl about Hayden's jerk off tape, and Earl has the tape. Owen doesn't want to leak the tape, as he says that Hayden is a nice dude.

Owen goes his date with Lisa at the premiere. AJ forces Lisa to continue seeing Hayden as he has a lot of money riding on him and Lisa breaking up with him will not help recover the investment.Owen is dejected and leaves. Owen calls home to Rusty # 2 and learns that his father did not get the loan and the restaurant will be repossessed the next day.

Earl and Owen sell the jerk-off tape to Pip for $500K. But once again Earl switches the tapes on Pip and sells him the wrong tape (the sex tape Jimmy made of Dorothy). Pip announces that he will play the Hayden tape at 5 PM, but then realizes that he doesn't have it. Pip has no option but to play the tape on air and destroy Jimmy's reputation as he is no good. Pip is fired from his job, which ends up in a promotion for Earl.Turns out that Owen did not need the money as Hayden knew of Owen's troubles and had sent the money to Owen's father just before the deadline to save the restaurant. Owen thanks Hayden and tells says that Lisa only went to the premiere with him as AJ told her to.

Owen hooks up with Lisa before he leaves LA. The restaurant is relaunched. Hayden attends the launch night, and Lisa attends as Owen's girlfriend.
