The cult classic cast ensemble piece is a modern era coming-of-age drama that follows traditional styles made iconic from the likes of the 1985 film Breakfast Club and 2005 Crash. Boston to Philly chronicles the life of Rome "Boston," a young Black male who has just received the horrible news that his family has been killed during a major snow storm on their way to watch Rome play in his final basketball game as a Highschool athlete. His only living relative is his God-Mother Yolette, a close family friend and notoriously immature and irresponsible middle aged white woman living in Philadelphia. After falling out with his childhood Coach and mentor Rome is forced to move to a new city and immediately battles with various stages of depression, isolation and angst living with Yolette. After a huge argument, Rome leaves his house and meets Carolina "Philly," who is in a state of mourning. Instantly the two form a connection and after sharing a powerful kiss at one of the most iconic landmarks in the city the love story is formed between Boston and Philly.
Against the backdrop of a dark and dangerous Philadelphia, a raw and vivid tapestry of multi-dimensional characters, coming from the wrong sides of the tracks, unfolds. Ant & G are two long time friends who devise a plan to rob affluent homes in order to raise enough money to afford to go to college and to send a message to the Mayor of Philadelphia who they believe is not doing enough to save their city. In North Philly, Carolina "Philly," is plagued with guilt and sorrow as she deals with the tremulous atmosphere of life as part of the infamous Biker Gang the Philly Ruff Ryder Chapter ran by Big P ( played by Rapper Ar-Ab).
