When both are forced to work together to solve a serious crime, Detective Inspector Philip Boyd of the PSNI - straitlaced, teetotal, reactionary Presbyterian -finds himself working alongside his Garda counterpart, Detective Inspector Aoife Regan -foul-mouthed, unapologetically gay, and unwillingly seconded to what she calls 'the boglands'.
