The story concerns a vampiric epidemic in which the contemporary city of Hollywood is the subject of the greatest man hunt in its history when a member of the living dead terrorizes the citizens of Los Angeles in a series of bizarre and grisly murders. An L.A. homicide detective and a noted expert on vampirism join in on the massive city wide search for the prime suspect, vampire Judah Feldstein.
