Follows a young astronaut called Cosima and a lizard named Big Lizard.

After crash-landing on planet Proxima B astronaut Cosima meets her larger-than-life best-friend-forever Big Lizard. Together they have a whole prehistoric world to explore and fun to be had, guided by Cosima's Dad and on-board supercomputer D.O.R.I.S. (Digital Online Robotic Intelligence System). Cosima loves nothing more than hanging out with her best buddy, Big Lizard, but life on Proxima isn't all plain-sailing - this is a wild world, a gigantic one, which would test the character of even the best space explorer. Based on the real exoplanet, Proxima B, Cosima and Big Lizard adventure around a world full of fascinating pre-dinosaur creatures such as ammonites and trilobites, exploring caves, volcanoes, swamps, deserts, and an underwater environment teeming with life. They meet Ammon, the handy ammonite, Twig the giant millipede, Rex the energetic trilobite, and Dunk the ever-reliable dunkleosteus. Whilst Dad tends to their broken ship, and glitching computer, Cosima helps Big Lizard solve problems for their friends using the perfect blend of human ingenuity and natural knowhow - always making it back home in time for tea. Big Lizard blends together adventure and discovery with subtle learning about science - from solar power to friction, the chemistry of baking, pre-historic flora and fauna, magnetite, and a triple solar eclipse. The series also explores social themes of friendship, courage, perseverance, patience, communication and understanding.—Steve Smith
