Kavi Kali has an affair with a low-caste woman, but ends up marrying a princess.

An upper-caste but naive Brahman, Kali, falls in love with a lower caste woman, Pushpavali, much to the chagrin of his step-mother, who asks him to leave. Both Kali and his sweetheart are forced to depart, and end up in the kingdom ruled by an arrogant princess, who hires Pushpavali as a singer.
