Bimal comes to Balaspur as a school lecturer where he meets different types of people.

Bimal Mukhopadhyay, a simple guy, comes to Balaspur as a school lecturer where he meets different types of people. The station master, Shashi Ganguli (Manoj Mitra) helps him and Bimal stays in the railway quarters. Shashi's wife wants to fix her daughter, Bulbuli's wedding with Bimal but Bimal is not interested. One day Bimal sees a village housewife Bini (Mousami Chattopadhyay) and he goes to meet her everyday. Bimal is liked very much by the school lecturer Manirul and the ticket collector Kailash, but some of the villagers start blaming him of having an affair with Bini. They want him to get married to Sumi. In the meantime Bimals cousin has found another job for him but Bimal marries Sumi and stays on in Balaspur.—Swarup Basak
