It is a biographical film based on the life of Potana, who translated Bhagavatam into Telugu language.

A staunch devotee of Lord Rama, Bammera Potana, lives a pious life with his wife and children in Ekasilapuram. One day, Lord Rama appears before him and orders him to translate Bhagavatam into Telugu language. King Sarvagna Singabhoopala tries to convince Potana to dedicate Bhagavatam to him but Potana refuses and dedicates it to Lord Rama. The King seizes Bhagavatam and banishes Potana and his family from his kingdom. After divine intervention, the king realizes his mistake and supports Potana.
