A group of operational workers of the Moscow Criminal Investigation Department headed by investigator Alla Shatrova specializes in investigating "dead cases" - crimes that for various reasons have not been disclosed by the police for many years. Every time new facts appear, new witnesses, Alla Shatrova and her colleagues use every opportunity to reproduce and analyze the events of the crimes committed many years ago. The investigation team works out old and new versions, bit by bit restores the course of events, goes to the suspects and forces them under the weight of evidence to commit a confession.
