Ryan from the YouTube channel Nexpo reenacts the creepypasta "Ben Drowned" before discussing the ARG that accompanied it.
On September 2015, Alexander D. "Jadusable" Hall wants to take a break from playing hard games. His friend suggests to play some Nintendo, and bought a free home console on Craigslist from a man via his grandfather. In the set is included his game, Majora's Mask.
That night, he plays the game, and discovered that a saved slot named 'Ben' is in it, which turned out to be the name of the old, deceased owner. He started making a new slot named 'Link.' Throughout the gameplay, he felt unsettled and unnerved, with the feeling that 'Ben' was here. This would develop as he played more. Days later, his slot was lost, replaced with 'Drowned,' hence 'Ben Drowned.'
One day, he tries to find the grandfather to try ask him questions, but is blocked by a mysterious man. One night, as his sanity starts dropping, he received a message from Ben, disguised as Cleverbot. The way it is chatting like a stalker makes him think that Ben is watching him, and to prevent himself from being mad, he stopped playing. He then recorded several of his gameplays and told his roomate to upload it to YouTube. He also posted his story to 4chan.
The fictional story then ends here, with Ryan now investigating this creepypasta. Ryan founds out that Jadusable has posted a cipher, in which the deciphered URL's site has the game's catchphrase 'You shouldn't have done that,' which when is added a .net, leads to a website called The Moon Children, a cult featured in the game. Ryan and his friends tried experimenting by requesting to enter, but gets no reply. Turns out the site's admin DROWNED has been suspicious about the new entries.
He soon finds an article of the cult's mantra, where it's clear that the cult does sacrifice, and that once it is done, the new member will be recruited. It is also discovered that several members have been missing. After a gameplay video by channel TheLinkIsMissing named fj6rt (ref. ifrit, a member), The Moon Children's site is taken down. The gameplay depicts the character playing a melody called The Sound of Time, which means that when certain melody is played, real outcomes are made. Another melody, New Wave Bosa Nova, which lead to a member's disappearance. Another video of the character dead was then posted, which lead to the death of the cult entirely.
Jadusable then announced that the narrative is being financially halted, before continuing again in early 2020.
The film then ends, out of story, with the film's crew stumbling upon a still dopplegänger of Nefarious TV, and in the game, the save slot reads 'Nef Drowned.'
