Summaries

Anselm Kiwitt, a television reporter, accompanied by two of his colleagues, Jochen and Harry, go to the small island of Mellog in order to film the behavior of the seagulls during the breeding season. They are joined by an elderly biologist, Dr. Schlinz, who is interested in the island's fauna. The four of them find lodging with the island's keeper, Dirk Dirksen. He and his daughter, the blonde Swantje, are the only inhabitants of the place. During their first report, they discover how aggressive seagulls can be during the nesting season, when they feel threatened. But a much more dramatic event happens: they discover the body of a man. Crime or accident?—Guy Bellinger
