"Begeertes" is a series about the love intrigues and life dramas of a group of people in East London. The main character, Anton Schoeman, is struggling to cope while taking care of his sick mother. His dream of earning his own fortune is made possible by rich businessman Hugo Wessels. All of the characters find keeping their pasts hidden difficult. Anton learns the identity of his biological father and experiences love at first sight with Annalien, whose mother shot and killed her father. Hugo, who lost his wife and daughter in an accident, marries a younger woman who tries to keep him ignorant of her past at all costs.—D N
